Itinerary

Day 1 – Depart Scranton & Wilkes Barre at 4:00 pm for a short (1 ½ Hour) ride to the Stewart Airport in Newburgh, NY. Check-in: Norwegian Air (6:00 pm). Depart via Norwegian Air at 9:00 pm arriving (non-stop) in Shannon, Ireland at 8:15 am.

Day 2 – Welcome to Shannon, Ireland. After clearing Customs at Shannon Airport, your CIE Tours Driver/Guide will welcome you & escort you to your coach. Drive along the coast of scenic County Clare & visit the Cliffs of Moher, one of Ireland’s most beloved, natural landmarks. See magical vistas, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean along Ireland’s Western coastline. Drive to the Tarbert for a ferry ride across the River Shannon. We arrive into the beautiful town of Killarney, our home for the next four nights. Check into your hotel & enjoy some free time before joining your fellow travelers for dinner.

Day 3 – After your Irish breakfast, discover the beauty of the Dingle Peninsula, once described by The National Geographic Traveler as “the most beautiful place on earth”. Drive along the south shore of the peninsula for plenty of vistas of heathery mountains, sandy stretches of beach, stunning green landscapes and rocky headlands. Enjoy the views & take photos. We will also make a stop at Foley’s Pub. This is one of local’s favorite spots to grab some authentic grub and a pint of beer. Return to Killarney for a free evening with dinner on your own.

Day 4 – After your Irish breakfast, take a short ride to Blarney. We visit Blarney Castle to kiss the famous “Stone of Eloquence” or explore the tranquil gardens. Treat yourself to quality Irish made goods at Blarney Woolen Mills. Continue back into County Kerry & return to Killarney. Traditional Irish dinner at our hotel.

Day 5 – After a hearty Irish breakfast, enjoy a day at your Leisure in Killarney!

This evening enjoy a Farewell Dinner & entertainment at Kate Kearney’s Irish Cottage, which is picturesquely situated at the entrance to what must be the most beautiful glaciated valley in Ireland, the Gap Of Dunloe. Our Irish night consists of a superb meal & traditional Irish entertainment, which includes songs and musicians playing a wide array of instruments along with costumed dancers doing the Jig and other traditional sets.

Day 6 – After our Irish breakfast, we check out of our hotel. We will transfer from Killarney to the Shannon Airport. You may do some last minute shopping at the duty free stores before boarding your flight home. Depart Shannon via Norwegian Airlines @ 2:20 pm arriving non-stop back at Stewart Airport in Newburgh, NY @ 4:40 pm. Day 1 – Depart Scranton & Wilkes Barre at 4:30 pm for a short (1 ½ Hour) Ride to the Stewart Airport in Newburgh, NY. Check-In with Norwegian Airlines (6:00 pm) Depart via Norwegian Airlines at 9:25 pm arriving (non-stop) in Edinburgh, Scotland at 9:25am.

Day 2 – Welcome to Edinburgh, Scotland at 9:25am. After clearing Customs at Edinburgh Airport, your CIE Tours Tour Guide will welcome you & escort you to your deluxe coach. We set off on a guided tour of Edinburgh to see some of the city’s magnificent highlights. During your tour, you will travel through the Old Town and of course along the Royal Mile. You will see the Palace of Holyrodhouse, St. Giles Cathedral and even the National Museum of Scotland. Stop for a guided tour of the imposing Edinburgh Castle, perched high above the city on volcanic rock. Drive a short distance to your hotel, check in & settle into your room.
In the evening, join our Times Traveler’s Group for Dinner ** at the Hotel Restaurant.

Day 3 – After a hearty Scottish breakfast, drive to the medieval town of St. Andrews, the “Home of Golf” and see the famous Royal & Ancient Clubhouse & the old Course. We then visit St. Andrews Castle, which is situated on a high cliff top and overlooks the sea – an amazing view! This Castle Dates back from the 13th Century and was the main residence of the bishops and archbishops. Next Visit St. Andrews Cathedral, founded in 1160. We then continue our journey and stop in Kingsbarn to visit the Kingsbarns Distillery & Visitor Center. Sample some Whiskey with our group. We then return to our hotel for dinner **.

Day 4 – After a wholesome Scottish breakfast, spend the entire day free to explore Edinburgh. You will have a variety of activities to choose from. Visit a Pub, shop, or you may wish to visit the John Knox House, established in 1470, making it the oldest medieval building in Edinburgh. You may also want to visit the Royal Yacht Britannia & learn the history of the Royal Yachts. Finally, you could stop at the Tartan Weaving Mill to see the inside of a working Scottish mill. Dinner is on your own this evening. You may like to dine in the many fine restaurants or pubs within walking distance from our hotel.

Day 5 – After your Scottish breakfast, drive into the historic town of Stirling and stop to visit Stirling Castle. Captured from the English in 1297 by William Wallace and again in 1314 by Robert the Bruce, Stirling Castle has been featured largely throughout Scottish history. At one time Mary, Queen of Scots resided here. Continue our journey and stop at the celebrated Loch Lomond, Scotland’s longest loch. Upon arrival, embark on a cruise of the loch so you can see the wonderful views, such as the many islands. One of the islands is the burial place of the Chiefs of the Clan MacGregor. Return to our hotel to relax & freshen up before a festive evening. Tonight, head to a unique Scottish venue, for dinner followed by a traditional Scottish Ceilidh, a night of lively music and dancing.

Day 6 – Scottish Breakfast at Hotel. Today your vacation has come to an end, however since we have a later flight you will have time in Edinburgh before departing to the Airport. This afternoon you will transfer to the Edinburgh Airport in plenty of time to check in for your transatlantic flight home. You may choose to do some last minute shopping at the duty free stores before departure.
