Day 01 Wednesday, May 03 Motorcoach from WB & SCR to Newark. Depart Newark to Milan, Italy with UA 19 @ 635 p.m.
Day 02 Thursday, May 04 Morning arrival at Milan’s Malpensa airport @ 0840. After meeting your tour manager transfer with your private deluxe motor coach (3hr.drive) along the glorious Mediterranean Coast with lunch stop en route ( on your own). Continue to Pisa the ancient university town near the mouth of the Arno River with its glorious seafaring past and Galileo’s birthplace. Visit the Piazza dei Miracoli, the Bell Tower known throughout the world as the leaning Tower of Pisa, the Cathedral – one of the most beautiful examples of Italian architecture and the Baptistery. Continue for a leisurely drive to Montecatini -Terme. Welcome dinner at your hotel.
Day 03 Friday, May 05 Morning excursion to Florence – the “Cradle of the Renaissance”. Your guided city tour includes entrance to the Academia featuring Michelangelo’s original David, the Cathedral with its immense cupola by Brunelleschi, the Bell Tower by Giotto, the “Door of Paradise” by Ghiberti, Cellini’s Perseus and Neptune Fountain. Afterwards time to shop and explore this great city on your own. Dinner in your hotel.
Day 04 Saturday, May 06 Full day excursion to Siena, a perfectly preserved medieval city with many signs of its greatness. See the world renowned shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, Palazzo Pubblico with its tall slender Mangia Tower, the Piazza del Duomo and the tall marble Cathedral, one of the most remarkable example of Italian Gothic architecture. Continue to San Gimignano, a charming medieval town perched on a hilltop in the heart of Tuscany. Afterwards stop for a private wine tasting with 14 selected regional wines and light Tuscan dinner of salami and cheese, bruschetta, ribollita with cantuccini in nearby Tenuta Torciano www.torciano.com Returning late to your hotel.
Day 05 Sunday, May 07 Early morning departure to the eternal city of Rome built on 7 hills in the middle of an undulating plain. The marble city was created by Augustus and, according to legend, was founded by Romulus in 753 B.C. and by many considered the cradle of Western Civilization and the heart of Catholicism. Upon arrival enjoy a guided panorama city tour including the Colosseum, the Monument of Victor Emanuel, the Forum and other historical highlights. Dinner in your hotel.
Day 06 Monday, May 08 Morning transfer for a guided tour to the Vatican Museum, a group of impressive edifices with hundreds of rooms, halls, galleries, libraries and chapels overflowing with art treasures; the most beautiful of which is the overwhelming Sistine Chapel – seat of the Conclave for the election of the Pope and Michelangelo’s masterpiece. Afterwards visit St.Peter’s Basilica with Michelangelo’s Pieta. Remainder of the day at leisure for individual activities. Dinner on your own.
Day 07 Tuesday, May 09 Day at leisure for individual activities or additional touring. Farewell dinner in a local ristorante.
Day 08 Wednesday, May 10 Morning transfer to Rome airport for UA 41 flight departing @ 0955 for Newark. Motorcoach return from Newark to WB & SCR.
